We were asked to develop a new brand identity for MEI Engineering & Installation that reflected the high quality engineering services that MEI delivers each and every week.
When working with the MEI team on the brand they envisioned, we couldn't overlook the high quality of work in the images we received. The precision! Whether it was the sharp lines and edges of steel or the precise rounded corners from plasma cutting across different projects. We knew that we had to bring this to life in the branding. You can see the former logo in the images attached - where they were trying to reflect that precision but just couldn't spark the branding into life. We chose the Montserrat font to match the clean, crisp engineering imagery. Montserrat is a geometric sans-serif typeface designed by Argentinian designer Julieta Ulanovsky.
The company was already well established in the industry and had always been represented monochromatically, so we stuck with the black and white aesthetic and worked in a grayscale gradient to the branding. We were delighted with how the brand turned out digitally but also how our designs have transitioned easily onto print work, signage, clothing, vehicles and more. We have no doubt that MEI Engineering will continue to excel in a high tech industry.
